I realize that in town, traffic updates are more important. As it was, I was fortunate to have my Garmin Nuvi with me, which has virtually every highway, street and back alley of the entire country pre-loaded. The majority of my time in the high mountains was a blank screen. Just today, I drove from the front range area to the western slope and back.
Routing in these areas is far more important than traffic updates. I can drive for only 30 minutes from my home and be out of range of any cell tower.
